Fujitsu Finland has received the Recognised for Excellence award in the Finnish Excellence Quality Awards. Each year, the jury of the competition presents awards for exemplary organisations in four categories. Fujitsu participated in the large corporations category. This marks the first time in a decade that an IT company receives this honour.
"We have developed our operations systematically for years. We are very proud of this recognition, coming from an impartial evaluator. This proves that we are on the right path in our culture of continuous development," says CEO Yrjänä Ahto of Fujitsu.
The competition uses the assessment criteria of the European Quality Awards, in other words the EFQM Excellence Model. Organisations are assessed against nine core areas, covering the operations and results of the entire organisation. The assessment areas portray the organisation's operations, how the organisation self-assesses and improves its operations, and the results it has achieved.
One of Fujitsu's key strengths in the competition was its processes. The company's systematic development effort that dates back to the early 90s, and the way it has applied internationally acclaimed best practices into its day-to-day operations are clearly evident in the result.
