Food company Lännen Tehtaat plc and Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into an agreement on the provision of IT infrastructure support services in accordance with Fujitsu's Patja operating model. The agreement is for three years and covers mainly the company's food division, administration and its units operating in Säkylä, in the South-Western Finland.
Under the contract, Fujitsu provides Lännen Tehtaat with an IT helpdesk, on-site support and server management services; and for its part bears responsibility for server backups. In the initial phase there will be in excess of 200 workstations incorporated in the Patja service.
In addition, the agreement includes workstation deliveries, covering all the companies in the Lännen Tehtaat group. The services will be deployed in phases by mid-April of 2007.
"A most pivotal goal of the agreement is to release our own IT experts to focus on developing our IT solutions. We are also aiming to support the growth strategy of the food division in Finland and in the Northern Baltic Sea area," comments IT Director Ari Laarne of Lännen Tehtaat.
"We ended up choosing Fujitsu's Patja service, because Fujitsu has an excellent regional coverage both in Finland and in areas of our growth strategy. Also, Fujitsu's service range is comprehensive and well commercialised," Laarne continues.
