ICT services provider Fujitsu Services Oy had yet another successful financial year. For the fiscal that ended the last of March the net sales of Fujitsu Finland grew by 7 per cent, amounting to 311 million euros (net sales for previous fiscal amounted to 291 million euros). Profit improved by 8 per cent to in excess of 24 million euros (22.7). Fujitsu employs approximately 2,300 people (1,800) in Finland.
During the past financial year Fujitsu Finland won several new customers through its long-standing, market leading Patja operating model, but also with its new Sohva application partnership model. Fujitsu's mobile enterprise services and telephony solutions also broke through in the market. Several of the new agreements have international dimensions.
CEO Yrjänä Ahto of Fujitsu Finland is of the opinion that ICT services prove the service industry to be the particular branch of industry that is the most vital in the modern society.
"ICT services are still not provided through mass production, but individually and in a customised manner. The lack of industrial tradition has in part led to quality problems and high prices, for which our industry has been scorned, and for a reason", Ahto says. In his opinion, there is only one way to response to the increasing demands of the customers: industrial production of ICT services.
"We have to know how to combine industrial service production and a customised way to offer it to the customer. Fujitsu is at the cutting edge on this front. For example, the Triole model puts our global solutions into one package while the Sense and Respond model guides Fujitsu into an in-depth understanding of our customer's business", Ahto continues.
According to preliminary information, also the international Fujitsu Group improved their result. Fujitsu's net sales went up to 33.6 billion euros, and profit amounts to 1.3 billion euros. The Group net profit more than doubled to 481 million euros. Fujitsu's businesses outside Japan had a major impact on the growth and profit.
