Wireless technology expert Elektrobit Group and IT services provider Fujitsu Services Oy complement their IT infrastructure partnership, Patja with mobile solutions, and authentication and access control services. The four-year contract signed at the beginning of November is a continuation to the Patja collaboration, which dates back to 1998.
The Patja service produced for the Elektrobit Goup, based in Oulunsalo, in Northern Finland, covers a total of 1,700 workstations, 101 servers, and mobile devices. The contract also covers the Group’s all subsidiaries.
The new contract brings mobile services as part of the Patja service. Elektrobit deploys Fujitsu’s Mobile Enterprise solution as well as mPollux CallSign authentication and access control service. The Mobile Professional service provides real-time access to email and calendar on a mobile client. Mpollux provides strong authentication, also in mobile environment.
IT infrastructure services also expand. User support service now includes the Elektrobit Group’s offices abroad. Server support will be managed on a remote basis. In addition, unix and linux servers become part of the Patja service.
”Fujitsu has throughout our IT collaboration been able to respond flexibly to the changes of our operation. We have developed our IT environment according to the needs of our business. As for example now, expanding the collaboration into mobile services. Different development projects, such as Sense and Respond workshops, have generated promising tools with which to further develop the Patja service”, says Olli Hyyppä, Director, IM of the Elektrobit Group.
