Oriola Oy and Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into an agreement on IT infrastructure outsourcing in accordance with Fujitsu's Patja operating model. Oriola is a pharmaceutical wholesaler and distributor, employing some 1,000 people.
The outsourcing contract covers the support services of approximately 750 workstations and the monitoring and management of more than 60 servers.
The actual implementation starts at the beginning of December, which will bring eight IT professionals from Oriola to Fujitsu.
"An alternative option would have been to hire more IT people and continue to manage our IT infrastructure independently. However, since it is stated in our IT strategy that IT infrastructure is among the things that we aim to contract out if possible, we chose to do follow that path. In fact, we have previously outsourced other IT functions", says Risto Kanerva, Managing Director for Oriola.
"The bottom line is that we wouldn't have set out for this project had we been to a slightest degree uncertain of Fujitsu's capability of offering reliable partnership and of ensuring high availability of our IT infrastructure systems", he adds.
"Fujitsu was able to provide with well-oiled processes and a service package that meets Oriola's requirements. We need regional coverage to be able to serve our branch offices also in Oulu, Kuopio and Seinäjoki. Thanks to the Patja operating model end user support is available to us even outside the regular office hours", lists Jorma Saloranta, IT Director for Oriola.
