Fujitsu Finland and Kemira have entered into a preliminary agreement whereby Kemira’s IT infrastructure and data communications services will be managed in accordance with the Provia operating model. The service will cover around 2,000 workstations and some 130 servers.
Approximately 20 employees are currently engaged in the service functions to be covered by the proposed agreement. These employees will be transferred to be employed by Fujitsu as so-called 'old employees'. The transfer of service responsibility, which will be carried out in form of a business transfer from Kemira to Fujitsu, will take place on 15 June 2004. The actual Provia services will commence from 1 November 2004.
The agreement covers all Kemira’s offices in Finland, apart from Kemira GrowHow and the offices in Tikkurila.
Fujitsu’s and Kemira’s SAP collaboration extends as long as seven years back. Currently the companies are carrying out an extensive project, implementing a SAP based HR information system. It will be employed by the Kemira Group’s HR personnel and managers in 30 countries. Also, the companies signed a continuation agreement a year ago on SAP R/3 maintenance and operating services.
