Finland Post Corporation and Fujitsu have entered into an IT outsourcing agreement, according to which Finland Post's 5,500 workstations will be transferred to Fujitsu's service. Moreover, 27 IT experts from Finland Post's IT service subsidiary IT Optimo joined Fujitsu in July.

Fujitsu will be providing the help desk and on-site support services for Finland Post, while IT Optimo will focus on developing Finland Post's operational systems, their integration, support and maintenance.

Finland Post had a number of qualities it required from an outsourcing partner, including a service network covering the entire Baltic Sea region; flexibility, availability of services, manageability, foreseeable costs, clear division of responsibility, and potential to expand the support services to cover Finland Post's subsidiaries abroad.

"Besides significantly improved operational quality, our goal in outsourcing is to ensure the availability of our services also during peak hours. I believe that with Fujitsu's expertise we are able to achieve the aims we set for Finland Post's IT infrastructure. Fujitsu's know-how, world-class processes and price-quality ratio convinced us. To sum it up, the future looks bright for us", says IT Director Markku Saarela.

The service migration project was initiated at the beginning of August and is scheduled to be completed by the year end.
