The leading Finnish television and radio transmission service provider Digita will transfer its office environment consisting of about 500 workstations and 24 servers to Fujitsu’s Provia service. The five-year Provia agreement includes user support, LAN maintenance, anti-virus services, server monitoring and management, as well as IT asset management.
Under the agreement, six Digita IT professionals will become Fujitsu employees. A start-up project is already underway and the Provia service will be launched in the beginning of November.
Digita is responsible for the national transmission and transfer networks and radio and television transmission facilities. The company also offers a wide variety of network services to mobile and wideband operators. The French TDF Group currently owns 90 per cent of Digita shares, with the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) holding 10 per cent. In 2003, Digita’s turnover was 84 million euro and the company employed 380 people.
