CBOSS Oy, a subsidiary of the leading international telecom software vendor CBOSS Association, today announced that it has acquired the On-Line Billing Solutions business and operations, including 70 employees and all rtBilling product assets, from Fujitsu Services Oy, a Fujitsu company. The acquisition came into effect on 1 February 2004.
Fujitsu decided to divest the product-driven On-Line Billing Solutions business unit in order to be able to focus on its core businesses in Finland, that is, IT services like outsourcing, ASP and system integration businesses. Fujitsu has previously divested several other product-driven businesses and product assets, for example, Automaster (Management Buy-Out) and NetCommunity (to Teamware).
This is also a natural step for the product-driven On-Line Billing Solutions business unit that develops real-time billing solutions for telecom operators worldwide. CBOSS focuses on development and delivery of billing and business support systems, and it has both willingness and capacity for making long-term investments into the real-time billing systems business. Moreover, the complementary product line assortment that CBOSS offers, adds great value to the existing rtBilling solution.
The On-Line Billing Solutions business unit develops real-time billing solutions for telecom operators and m-commerce service providers. The globally proven rtBillingTM is a real-time billing solution developed by CBOSS Oy. In a single system, rtBilling provides true real-time processing of voice, SMS&MMS, data and mobile commerce transactions, thus enabling convergent billing for all types of mobile communications traffic.
CBOSS Oy will continue to develop rtBilling, and not only offer it as a standalone product, but also as an integrated part of a broader, complementary CBOSS product line assortment, which includes over 40 different products. By combining rtBilling and other CBOSS products, the company will be able to better serve both existing and future customers, and provide them with a complete range of high-quality billing and business solutions.
After the acquisition, CBOSS Oy employs about 70 people in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere and Lahti. CBOSS Oy is a subsidiary of CBOSS Association. CBOSS Association has delivered more than 130 installations to 83 operators worldwide, including Russia, CIS, Western Europe and Asia. The company is privately owned and it employs over 1700 people.
