Fujitsu and Metso sign agreement on IT product services in Europe and Asia

Helsinki, joulukuu 01, 2015 Technology group Metso Oyj and Fujitsu Finland Oy have entered into a global contract on IT product services, encompassing Metso sites in Europe and Asia. The contract signed in September marks the continuation of a longstanding cooperation that first started in the 1990’s.

The contract covers the delivery of desktops, the related peripherals, network devices etc. for the company’s European and Asian sites. Metso will place orders directly from its own purchase system, which is integrated into Fujitsu’s SAP system. Desktops will be preconfigured at Fujitsu’s logistics center in Finland, after which they will be delivered to users.

”We will be getting desktops easily, at the right time, at the right place, and installed to the standard. This will significantly reduce on-site work, which with our volumes will also result in tangible cost savings,” says Pekka Pajalahti, Director, IT Sourcing, of Metso.

”Metso being one of our largest product service customers, this is a major contract for us. This is also an excellent proof that global product deliveries and pre-configurations are among our major strengths,” says Director Heikki Rantala of Fujitsu.
