VR Track chooses Fujitsu’s C7 project management system

Helsinki, lokakuu 29, 2013
Fujitsu Finland Oy and VR Track Oy have entered into agreement on the delivery of a C7 project portfolio management system. The deal is worth 2,4 million euros.

VR Track Oy is Finland’s biggest rail constructor and its expertise covers all sectors of railway engineering, from design to project implementation. C7 is a project management system developed by Fujitsu which has been delivered to customers since the early 2000s. In Sweden these customers include Empower, Skanska and NCC.

The deployment of C7 is a major investment for VR Track. The system will be used for a variety of design, construction and maintenance projects.

”C7 is a strategic development project for us, so this is an extremely important procurement. It represents a complete transformation of the modus operandi in our organization,” says Vice President Harri Lukkarinen of VR Track.

”We prepared a highly detailed requirements specification, and as it happened, Fujitsu’s solution met our needs best. C7 is a fully developed system we can implement with minimal customization, which we found quite important,” says Project Manager Anu Asikainen.

”This is an important door-opening for the C7 product in Finland,” says Matti Koskinen, Head of Business & Application Services, Nordic Region. ”There is an abundance of demand for systems focusing on project management on the market. Fujitsu’s position in this competition is strong, thanks to the long-standing development of C7 in Sweden. We have numerous major references, and a solution well-proven and refined in a variety of customer environments. VR Track is an important new account to Fujitsu as well.”

Fujitsu will deliver VR Track a C7 start-up project, licenses, maintenance and support services and system integrations to other selected systems. This is a framework agreement, enabling further expansion of the agreement in the years to come.
