Tiera and Fujitsu Finland to offer information management for municipalities as SaaS cloud service

Helsinki, kesäkuu 12, 2013

Fujitsu Finland Oy has entered into agreement with Kuntien Tiera Oy on delivering application services for Tiera's information management service. The solution has been designed for the approximately 250 municipalities that are the customer-owners of Tiera.

The solution that is built on EMC Documentum and Microsoft SharePoint covers case and document management as well as an electronic decision-making and meeting system. Fujitsu will deliver it as a SaaS cloud service. The service will be deployed by the pioneering customers in the first half of next year.

”This system is a service that has been designed in co-operation with our owner-customers. Its purpose is to streamline the operation of municipalities by introducing an interoperable and comprehensive information management solution to support the administrative processes. The solution will allow the gathering of materials into one document storage and the utilisation of this information in decision-making,” says business area manager Kari Syrjärinne of Tiera.

Fujitsu offers application support, enhancements and changes as well as project and specialist services for Tiera customers.

”Many municipalities are still using outdated, bespoke solutions for which there may no longer exist any upgrades or support services.  With the new information management solution they can replace several old systems and achieve substantial savings in maintenance costs,” says director Markku Örn of Fujitsu.

The new contract marks a continuation of the collaboration between Fujitsu and Tiera in the municipal sector. The information management solution will complement the application solutions provided to the municipal sector as SaaS services. The digital archive (SARKK) service released last summer is designed for materials that the municipalities must save either permanently or for a fixed period of time. At the end of 2013 the parties agreed on collaboration where Fujitsu will deliver SAP based application service for Tiera's ERP system.
