FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210

The powerful mainframe for the entry- and medium-sized enterprise IT

The models in the FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210 series are a system platform which has been specially designed for medium-sized customers.

The combination of proven BS2000 functionality with high-end Intel® Xeon® E7 processors means that the FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210 is the ideal basis to operate BS2000 applications economically.

In the current stage it will be possible to run several guest systems in parallel on the FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210. In addition to business critical BS2000 applications, Linux and Windows applications can be operated in their own guest systems and combined as required. As a result, users now have a powerful, stable consolidation and coexistence platform in the BS2000 Server quality to which they are accustomed.

OSD Extended Configuration OSD/XC is the BS2000 operating system package for Servers in the SQ Server line. The FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210 are supported by the new BS2000 OSD/XC V9.0 which consist of the operating system BS2000 OSD/BC V9.0 and a range of system-related software products.

Sixteen models are configured as complete HW/SW packages with all the components required to support a comfortable and efficient BS2000 operation. In addition to internal hard disks (e.g. ETERNUS JX40) which are connected directly to the SQ210 Server via RAID controller, and a very compact tape cartridge unit for automated backup (e.g. ETERNUS LT40), storage systems in the mid-range and enterprise ETERNUS DX series (e.g. ETERNUS DX400 or DX8000) can be connected via Fibre Channel.

Likewise, Tape Libraries (e.g. SCALAR i500) and the tape storage virtualization solution ETERNUS CS High-End (e.g. ETERNUS CS50) can be connected via Fibre Channel.

FUJITSU Server BS2000 SQ210 provide the usage of additional Application Units (AU) and the SAN Integration Package (SIP) as an option, that enables the usage of a multitude of usage scenarios and easy SAN integration of FC peripherals.

With the combination of Business Servers SQ210 running OSD/XC V9.0 customers can benefit from new, easy to implement and operate, High Availability features such as High Availability (HA), supporting hot spare and online replacement of important components and supervision of redundant SQ Servers and/or two ETERNUS DX disk systems. Simple and quickly switch of guest systems with its applications is another features that is supported.

On top the new feature Live Migration (LM) supports in the current business manual adaption of the load at resources of two servers. This enables customers to run uninterrupted maintenance and updates for hardware and firmware through manual switching and return.
Features Benefits
BS2000 Servers in performance range 12 to 1.750 RPF Business flexibility due to easy upgrading, i.e. performance as required
