ICT service provider Fujitsu Services Oy has been awarded an IT services management certificate. It is the first and the only one in Finland. In April 2008, Fujitsu obtained this certificate for a Patja account and this one marks an extension of the certificate to incorporate not only IT infrastructure services but applications as well - in other words, the Sohva application management service.
ISO/IEC20000-1:2005 is the first international IT management standard. To obtain it, an IT service provider is required to present detailed proof of efficient and high-quality service management.
"The significance of IT services for businesses is constantly increasing which steers organisations towards ever more standardised operating models. The ISO20000 certificate is a guarantee to our customers that our processes are efficient and consistent. The fact that we are receiving certificates in quick succession proves the matureness of our processes. It is also a factor that distinguishes us from our competitors on the market", says sales director Antero Vuorio of Fujitsu.
The ISO20000 standard incorporates the principles of the ITIL (IT infrastructure library). ITIL is a collection of best practices in terms of producing IT services and an excellent method for operational development.
