Fujitsu Services Belgium and its employees are rallying to support Aoro village in Benin.
Against the background of its current «Real Jobs for Real People» recruitment drive, Fujitsu Services Belgium has been sponsoring the Touareg Trail. The aim of this off-road rally competition was to raise the company’s profile amongst young graduates. As the Touareg Trail unfolded, Fujitsu Services’ employees decided to aid a school and the village of Aoro in Benin by drilling a water well. Immediately upon their return to Belgium, they launched a charity action to provide financial support for this construction project.
«Water for Aoro» is aimed at putting in place a water wall intended to improve the lives of around 600 children, their teachers and their families. Dave De Graeve, Key Account Director Financial Services for Fujitsu Services and the person in charge of the “Water for Aoro” project explains: “Thanks to this new well, the children will no longer be required to spend a large part of their day walking great distances to bring water to the village; leaving them with more time to spend on studying”.
Fujitsu Services Belgium is contributing to the project with an allowance to the «Water for Aoro» association for every new member of staff recruited as of now until the end of December 2008.
