Evaluation and reference design

The MB87Q2091 Development Kit provides a quick and easy means to become familiar with the MB87Q2091 10G Ethernet LAN-PHY Mapper in its multiple configuration modes. The kit includes an evaluation board and PC-based driver software. The evaluation board is populated with an MB87Q2091 device, as well as an accompanying 10G FEC device, and all of the required interfaces to configure and test both devices in a variety of modes. The board also serves as a reference design for 10GE mapping applications, in particular for providing guidance on clock and timing design as well as lay-out for high-speed signals.

MB87Q2010 : 43G Multiplexer/Demultiplexer Chip
PDF MB87Q2010 Factsheet [32.0 KB]
The MB87Q2010 is a device that multiplexes two different kinds of client signals (OC192 / STM-64 / 10Gbps CBR and OTU2) into an OTU3 (FEC) signal on the line side and vice versa. Standard G.709 FEC is supported on all client and line interfaces.
The MB87Q2010 Multiplexer can be connected directly to the MB87Q2020 Ultra FEC device via the SFI-5 line interface.
Client interfaces can be connected directly to the MB87Q0070 Interface Converter via the four separate SFI-5s interfaces. The Interface Converter provides direct connection to XFP Optical modules.
Mapping of 10GbE (LAN) can be supported with an external device mapping the data into a OTU2 frame and connecting to the CO40MUX10 client SFI-5s interfaces.

Features
- Supports CBR-10G tributaries (OC192 / STM-64 / ClearChannel@OC192-rate) and G.709 tributaries (OTU2)

MB87Q2020 : 43G Ultra-FEC Chip
PDF MB87Q2020 Fact Sheet [68.0 KB]
The MB87Q2020 is a multi-rate multiple forward error correction code device supporting Sonet/SDH, OTN and ClearChannel signals. The device can be configured in transceiver and regenerator modes at 40/43 Gbit/s data rates.
In transceiver mode either a constant bit rate 40Gbit/s signal (CBR-40G) (Sonet/SDH or clear channel) or an OTU-3 signal can be mapped into and extracted from a line side G.709/798 compliant transmission format. For Sonet/SDH client signals reduced receive and transmit byte processing according to ITU-T G.707/ANSI T1.105 is supported.
In regenerator mode the MB87Q2020 provides full G.709/798 compliant byte processing with several FEC converter options.
