Driver software is needed to provide an interface between the application itself and the underlying hardware. Different types of software packages are available for Fujitsu GDC's and these can be used within the limitations of different licenses.

Evaluation Software Package {E}

Evaluation software is used to test the (restricted) functionality of the software stack for a evaluation board. It includes an installation routine for the hardware, examples and brief documentation. The software is supplied as binary code for a dedicated hardware platform (examples are provided as source code). Evaluation software is provided 'as-is' i.e. without technical support and is intended for testing and demonstration purposes only.

Basic Software Package {B}

Basic software is used to develop and test the (restricted!) functionality of the software stack. It includes an installation routine for the hardware, examples and brief documentation. The software is as source code and a customer can modify this for his dedicated hardware platform. This software does not include 3D and texturing functionality.

Full Software Package {F}

Full software is used to develop and test the (fully-featured) functionality of the software stack. It includes an installation routine for the hardware, examples and brief documentation. The software is supplied as source code and can be modified by a customer for a dedicated hardware platform. This software includes 3D and texturing functionality.

Upgrade Package {U}

This software is intended to perform a functional upgrade.

The various software packages listed above can be licensed for use with one of the licenses listed below (please note that not every combination of software package/license is possible!):

{A} EULA License (End-User License Agreement)

• Only for evaluation license software downloads from the Internet
• May not be used for development, prototyping or series production products
• The user commits to the license agreement before downloading
• No additional written documents or contracts are required
• License is free of charge

{E} Evaluation License

• Evaluation license software may only be used for testing and evaluation purposes
• May not be used for development, prototyping or series production products
• Restricted use for 3 months
• Covered by an Evaluation Software License Agreement (SLA_EVA)
• License is free of charge

{T} DevelopmenT License

• Development license software may only be used for product development
• For a customer's internal (prototype) development tasks
• Mandatory if use in a series production is planned for a later date
• Covered by a General Software License Agreement (SLA_GEN)
• Subject to a one-time license fee

{S} Single Series Production License Software

• Single series production license software may be used for development and for building series products for commercial use
• Required for a single project and/or product
• Covered by a General Software License Agreement (SLA_GEN)
• Subject to a one-time license fee

{P} Project License Package Software

• A license package containing one development license and a single series production license
• Covered by a General Software License Agreement (SLA_GEN)
• Subject to a one-time license fee

(U) Upgrade License Software

• Upgrade license (only valid as an extension of one of the following types: T, S or P)
• Subject to a license fee
