The MB88F333 ‘Indigo L’ is a further derivative of Fujitsu's sprite-based Graphic Controller family and is capable of driving mid-range display sizes in automotive and industrial applications. The Sprite Engine supports a start-up screen, blending and overlay as well as simple animations and provides room for a high degree of creativity for graphic designs. Combined with RLE (run-length encoding) data compression, the processor is optimized for memory-sensitive applications. The internal data signature calculation unit guarantees data integrity for safety critical applications as required by ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level).
Graphics processing operates on an internal linebuffer scheme without the further need for external frame memory. This is an essential commercial advantage of this technology and reduces the system costs significantly. More cost savings are feasible, if the internal TCON controls the display via TTL or RSDS directly without the need of further external logic.
The key feature of the Indigo family is Inova Semiconductor's highspeed APIX®2 (Automotive/Advanced Pixel Link) interface. As a serial point-to-point connection it transfers video and control data from the remote control unit to the display.
SMC (Stepper Motor Controllers), PWMs (Pulse Width Modulators) and ADCs (Analog-Digital Converters) as integrated 5V MCU peripherals round off the device. The MB88F333 'Indigo L' is available in a low-cost LQFP176 package with an extended temperature range
