RFID FRAM

FerVID family

Overview

Radio Frequency Identity (RFID) has gained in popularity over the years fulfilling the demands of an industry no longer satisfied with the limited information available through magnetic strips or barcodes. RFID enables traceability through monitoring at each stage of the supply chain, ensuring quality products and services. By combining RF tag technology with non-volatile memory, large amounts of information can be stored with each individual product, for example historical records and other tracking information as well as ID.

Descriptions

MB97R804A/B

FRAM memory device with UHF RF and SPI interface

The device MB97R803A/B is available in two different types. A conventional contactless EPCglobal RFID product and a derivative with an additional contact based SPI interface. This dual interface type can be implemented as part of a Microcontroller based embedded system. Data, captured by sensors and the Microcontroller, might be stored in the FRAM device. Via the contactless UHF interface, the user has easy and convenient access to this data. Vice versa, the user can transfer configuration and control data to the embedded system via the RF field. Many applications like logistic tracking systems, data logging, information displays or vending machines, can benefit from this feature.

Features

  • 4KByte FRAM
  • Contactless Interface: ISO/IEC 18000-6, EPCglobal C1G2, 860MHz – 960MHz
  • Optional 2MHz SPI interface
  • Target Applications: logistic tracking systems, data logging, information displays or vending machines
  • Anti-collision algorithm
  • Password protection
  • Bulk memory transfer commands
Evaluation Board

MB89R118C/MB89R119B

LSI for RFID

This LSI device is designed for 13.56MHz RFID, which complies with ISO/IEC15693, the international standard for RFID tags. Incorporating up to 2KBytes of FRAM, it stores larger amounts of data and provides faster read/write times compared with conventional EEPROM-based RFID.

Features

  • 2KByte/256Byte FRAM
  • Contactless Interface: ISO15693, 13.56MHz
  • Target Applications: Inventory management, supply chain management, anti-theft, medical etc.
  • Operating Distance: 50cm or longer (depending on the antenna and other factors)
  • With anti-collision algorithm
