Most customers prefer to take full advantage of Fujitsu's substantial expertise in ASIC design, applications engineering and system solutions; thereby reducing risk and leveraging the Fujitsu design flows.

Nevertheless, some high-volume and ultra cost-sensitive designs, for example using customer-owned tooling (COT), can benefit from a range of foundry services available from FME.

Fujitsu offers mask-making and wafer processing as standard services, and wafer sort, packaging and LSI testing as optional services.

The multi-project wafer service - SiExpress™ - aims to minimise customers' pre-production sample costs.
