Standard Cell ASIC

Datasheets

Standard Cell ASICs, known as well as Cell-Based ASIC, are ASIC products based on optimum-sized logic cells. The library elements are prepared by the ASIC vendor at transistor level (building block type) using various transistor sizes. As well different transistor types using varied Vth can be available, which will allow to choose the best power/performance implementation. These library elements are placed on the logic areas during physical implementation.

Consequently, standard cells feature a higher degree of integration than gate array or embedded array types. Standard cell products give the best performance for speed, power and density ICs. Dedicated low-leakage libraries will allow lowest power consumption in both dynamic and standby operation, while high speed transistors allow for operation frequencies of more than 500 MHz.

Fujitsu standard cell products are based on our leading-edge CMOS process technologies. Utilising multiple Vth transistors and libraries targeted for density, power or performance, the design implementation can be performed to exactly meet the customer requirements.

Memory blocks of variable sizes can be implemented in a efficient way, as can custom blocks, whether analogue or special digital hard IPs.
