Thermal Printers - Troubleshooting
If the printer is not working properly, check the following:
(1) Power Supply
- Is there any proble regarding specifications such as power supply capacity?
- Is the power supply working properly? (Check the power supply voltage.)
- Are all of the power supply grounds connected up together?
- Are the connectors loose, or are they connected up incorrectly?
(2) Cables
- Are there any breaks in the cables?
- Are the cables too long?
- Are the connections wired correctly?
In particular, is the connector for paper out detection in accordance with the paper insertion method (see 6.4 setting the paper)?
(3) Others
- Has the fuse blown?
- Is the paper set correctly?
- Is the head's temperature normal?
When the printing head base plate's temperature moves beyond the range of O°C to 60°C, the printer will not operate in order to protect the printing head.
