Fujitsu announces ScanSnap Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Support

Fujitsu has introduced a patch to address a reported issue with ScanSnap Manager software running under the Mac OS® X v10.6 Snow Leopard operating system.

To date, the QuickMenu and Scan to Office Functions could not be used on the new Mac OS. An error message pops up if it is used.

The new patch software temporarily disables these functions until fully supported software becomes available.

Users should download the patch software and apply it by following the instructions. Please note that the patch software is not a complete solution to fully solve all the issues that currently have been reported and no warranty is given as to the freedom of the patch software from errors or bugs. Fujitsu is not responsible for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the patch software in the result of the usage of the software. The patch software does not provide any additional functionality or improvements on other Mac OS than Mac OS® X v10.6 Snow Leopard. Please do not install the patch software in you use an older Mac OS.

How to apply the patch

ZIPDownload patch: jp.co.pfu.ScanSnap.V10L10.zip

  1. Download the patched version zip file of ScanSnap settings file on to your hard drive.
  2. Select "Close" from the ScanSnap Manager Menu.
    Note: In case you would like to make a back up of your current ScanSnap settings file, please change the file name of "jp.co.pfu.ScanSnap.V10L10.plist". To find the file, please select "user name" from finder menu, and select "Library" and then "Preferences"
  3. Unzip and copy the downloaded file in the process #1 into the "Preferences"
  4. Execute "ScanSnap manager" from Finder (select "Applications" then "ScanSnap")
  5. QuickMenu will not popped-up from now on.
  6. If Adobe® Acrobat® or Adobe® Reader® is installed, it will be launched to display scanned documents. If not installed, scanned document will be shown in the preview.
