Fujitsu PalmSecure applications span a wide range of vertical markets, including security, financial/banking, access control, healthcare and government applications. Deployment of the Fujitsu PalmSecure is widespread in Japan with more than 10,000 sensors already in use at banks, universities, private condominiums and hospitals. Worldwide there are in excess of 10,000 deployments at major banks; 3,000 embedded integrations in varied enterprise security systems; 1,000-plus PC log-in applications; and some 1,000 estate security installations for room access control in private and public organisations.

Financial - ATM & Cashless Payment

The application of biometric solutions in ATMs and electronic point-of-sale solutions provide a high- security environment. By using a smartcard, on which the client's unique palm vein pattern is stored, client can authorise themselves simply by scanning their palm vein pattern to let the ATM compare it with palm vein pattern stored on the smartcard.

Medical/Healthcare

Data security and identity management in healthcare has never been more critical and there is a strong demand especially for hygienic biometric devices. Fujitsu PalmSecure is especially well-suited to medical environments because it is non-invasive and eliminates the need for physical contact. Applications include: restricting access to patient data; securing specific laboratories against unauthorised access; managing access to individual computer systems and applications by approved medical staff. The PalmSecure sensor can also be used to register medical patients and to improve security for prescription distribution.
