Fujitsu Introduces First Network Scanner
Ease of Use, Innovative Features Highlight the New Fujitsu fi-6000NS, Designed to Increase Business Collaboration, Document Security and Reduce Corporate Communication Expenses
London, 17 August 2007 — Fujitsu Europe Limited has today announced the introduction of its first network scanner into its award-winning line of scanning solutions. The Fujitsu fi-6000NS Color Duplex Network Scanner is the first Fujitsu scanner to combine the intuitive, easy installation of a desktop scanner with the productivity of a network scanner for sharing documents in today's multi-location, global business environment.
In today's increasingly complex "connected" world, employees need simple solutions that provide instant access to strategic information, including every document a business generates. Productivity in any business depends upon collaboration, organization and efficiency. The fi-6000NS Network Scanner is the fastest, easiest way to get businesses scanning and sharing documents in an effective manner.
"The fi-6000NS network scanner supports the complete cycle of an ad hoc capture and share process" said Klaus Schulz, Manager, Product & Channel Marketing EMEA. "As a walk up device the Fujitsu fi-6000NS enables an entire organization to stay connected and productive by scanning and sharing files across the office and across the globe. This device makes it easy for today's information worker to conveniently capture, distribute and share information. It actually integrates 'naturally' into the professional workflow routines in modern business environments. Especially enterprises with English language office culture will immediately benefit from this new offering."
Easy to Use, Easy to Install, Secure!
The Fujitsu fi-6000NS is the quickest, easiest way to get an organization scanning and sharing documents. In the past, businesses
needed centralized printers, copiers, faxes and storage discs to enable others in the organization to share documents and
collaborate on projects. With the new fi-6000NS, network document sharing, emailing and faxing just becomes a lot easier.
Simply load documents into the automatic document feeder (ADF), log into the system, type in the destination using the built-in keyboard, and press the scan icon on the large touch-screen display. The documents will be easily accessible and immediately available to the rest of the organization within seconds as the scanner distributes documents directly to a network folder, email, or fax machine. Moreover, the fi-6000NS creates secure, searchable PDF files allowing users to password protect their scanned documents to ensure files can only be opened by the intended recipients.
Not only will the fi-6000NS save on consumable costs such as fax paper and printer paper by distributing documents electronically, it reduces the need for additional technical support, equipment expenditures, shipping costs and large phone bills due to multiple fax projects through its scan-to-email feature.
The fi-6000NS is also easy to install. Simply plug-in the power and Ethernet cable, point the network scanner to your network and email server and it's ready to work. Because the scanner uses the existing mail system address book and network security, no user profiles have to be created and maintained. There is also no need for a network adapter, PC or additional software.
More Innovative Features of the Fujitsu fi-6000NS Network Scanner
The Fujitsu fi-6000NS comes equipped with the largest touch-screen display in its class -- 8.4 inch XGA (1024 x 768) – including
24 bit color, and zoom/rotate image functionality. The built-in keyboard makes entering information easy and flips up for
access to the document exit tray. The fi-6000NS scans in color, grayscale and monochrome at duplex speeds up to 25 ppm / 50
ipm, offers true 600dpi optical resolution, a 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF), and dual-CCD scanning arrays to consistently
capture fine details in color and monochrome.
The network scanner also boasts ultrasonic double-feed detection, long document scanning support (up to 863 millimeters), and hard card scanning capabilities (ISO7810 standard) as well as embossed card scanning through the standard ADF. Yet, with a compact footprint of only 315 x 390 x 275 mm, the fi-6000NS installs easily into even the most crowded environments, including front office and back office locations.
Other innovative features/functions of the Fujitsu fi-6000NS Networkscanner include:
- Scan to email, network folder, network fax systems, and searchable PDF
- Automatic image quality adjustments, color detection, image orientation, paper deskew, paper size detection and blank page detection/removal
- Perfect for medical offices, real estate offices, legal, university administration, warehouses, government or any business looking for easy document sharing
