A printer with impressive capabilities

Hoofddorp, January 20, 2011 — Fujitsu Components is an established thermal printer manufacturer renowned for more than 20 years for its high quality thermal print mechanisms. Through continued research Fujitsu is able to develop new printers that are adapted to the requirements of the market. Fujitsu Components is proud to present its latest thermal printer development; the FTP-62D thermal print mechanism. This printer is designed from a customer's point-of-view and shows remarkable capabilities.

The brand new FTP-62D is an answer to the market demand for a space-saving printer. The compact printer is a direct evolution of the current FTP-628 Fujitsu printer family.

The FTP-62D print mechanism is designed to accommodate paper rolls partially inside the printer module allowing small and compact designs. The inclusion of the paper roll results in a space saving design, saving up to 8mm in height compared to a conventional printer design, and without compromising on functionality.

The performance and capability of this small-profile printer stand out. The FTP-62D supports high-speed printing up to 100mm/s at 9.5V and is capable of handling large paper rolls in a minimum possible space.

This portable printer has a compact size of 69.4mm (W) x 46mm (D) x 19mm (H) and weighs no more than 37 g.

The head pressure is controlled by a new innovative spring design, which combines several functions, such as:

• Stable head pressure for perfect print results.
• Earthing the thermal head, preventing damage due to ESD.
• Low mounting height.

The printer offers a printing life of minimum 100 million pulses/50km and has label printing capabilities.

The FTP-62D is suitable for a wide variety of printing purposes and applications; from label printing (straight paper path) to integration in POS systems.
