Fujitsu Components releases secure power relay
Hoofddorp, 12 December 2008 — Fujitsu Components Europe has released the FTR-K2G power relay for appliances that need to disconnect power in a secure way.
The FTR-K2G relay has been designed based on the need to comply with IEC 60335-1 for household and similar electrical appliances.
The IEC 60335-1 has been put in place for the protection against hazards such as electrical, mechanical, thermal, fire and radiation of appliances when operated.
The FTR-K2G relay has a contact separation of more than 3mm, which provides a safe power switching between the mains power lines and the equipment providing full disconnection. The insulation distance between coil and contacts with a creepage of >8mm offers reinforced insulation.
The FTR-K2G features a 1 form A contact and is capable of switching 5,000VA with a max switching voltage of 440V AC. The FTR-K2G contact has TV8 inrush capability. The coil voltage ranges from 5V to 100V DC with a dissipation of 1W.
The FTR-K2G relay has been designed for household appliances such as home entertainment systems, washing machines and tumble dryers. The relay can also be used for other applications such as copiers and industrial power supplies.
The relay is UL, CSA and VDE certified and has been designed within an eco-programme.
