Fujitsu Adds Micro SD Connectors to Line Up
Offers the lowest profile in its class
Hoofddorp, April 16, 2007 — Expanding its PCMCIA card connector offering, Fujitsu Components Europe, B.V. today released a very low-profile connector for micro SD/TransFlash™ cards. With a mounted height of 1.6mm, it is the lowest profile connector currently available for micro SD cards.
Featuring Fujitsu’s precise die-and-molding technology, the FCN-560 series micro SD connector measures 15mm(D) x 14mm(W) x 1.6mm (H) and has a life cycle of ten thousand insertions/withdrawals.
The connector uses a proprietary push-push structure that provides positive tactile feedback during card insertion and withdrawal. A card drop protection mechanism prevents the card from falling out during pre-insertion and forced card extraction after it’s locked in. When ejected, the card travels 3.5mm from its locked position.
The micro SD card connector offers a rated voltage of 5 Vac/dc and current of 0.5 A. Contact resistance is 100 mohm (initial) and the dielectric withstand voltage is 500 Vac for one minute. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 70°C.
