Fujitsu Introduces New 20A Slim Relay for HVAC and Major Appliances
Hoofddorp, June 7, 2004 — Fujitsu Components Europe, B.V., today released a slim, 20A power relay that is targeted primarily to OEMs developing commercial and industrial products.
Rated for a maximum load of 20A at 250VAC, the FTR-K3 is a 1Make (1 Form A) relay that is suited for switching compressor and inverter loads in air conditioners, refrigerators and other major appliances, as well as for use in office equipment.
The relay consumes a nominal operating power of 780mW and has an operating temperature range of -40 to +60 degrees C. Dimensions of the slim-type relay are 30.1mm (L) x 15.7mm (W) x 23.3mm (H).
The FTR-K3 relay features an 8mm clearance distance and a minimum 9.5mm creepage distance between coil and contacts for high-insulation resistance. It also has a surge withstand voltage of 8,500V (min.), 1.2x50uSec and features a 1,000V dielectric strength between contacts and 5000V dielectric strength between coil to contact. It also realizes the lowest power consumption (780mW) in this class. The relay’s expected mechanical life is rated at 2 million operations. and an electrical life of 100.000 operations at rated load (20A, 250VAC, Cos Phi 1).
The FTR-K3 meets UL, CSA, VDE (pending now) and CQC agency approvals and uses of UL94 flame class V-0 and UL CTI level class 2 plastics. It is constructed of lead-free materials and cadmium-free contacts to meet international environmental requirements.
The FTR-K3 series is available from second half of 2004 with #250 TAB and PCB terminals in 5, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24Vdc coil voltages. Samples are available immediately.
