Fujitsu Enhances Compact Printer Unit for High-Capacity Kiosk Applications

Hoofddorp, April 26, 2004 — Fujitsu Components Europe B.V. has enhanced its high-capacity thermal printer assembly with more features and print capabilities for expanded use in various self-service, informational and transaction kiosk applications.

The new FTP-639USL002 comes standard with an integrated 3-inch thermal print mechanism, an auto guillotine cutter, and either a miniature high-speed serial or USB controller board. Fujitsu has implemented a retractor that can handle unlimited receipt lengths.

Designed to accommodate various mounting schemes, the printer measures a compact 136.5(W) x 165(D) x 155(H) mm and it weighs 1.2kg. A partial tilt function allows mounting flexibility and the die-cast metal frame provides durability, mounting stability, as well as ESD protection and heat dissipation or retention.

The printer can output a variety of data, graphics and characters, 2D and 3-D bar codes, at speeds of 200mm/sec with 8 line/mm resolution. Its operating life is 100 km form feed, 100 million pulses and 500,000 cuts.
