Fujitsu Offers Copper Cable Assemblies for High-Speed Applications

Hoofddorp, May 28, 2003 — Fujitsu Components Europe, B.V. the developer of the high-speed MicroGiGaCN™ interconnect series, today announced availability of high-bandwidth copper cable assemblies that meet the InfiniBand™ electrical and mechanical specifications.
The differential cables are a low-cost alternative to fiber optic cables for high-performance data transfer applications. They are designed for high-bandwidth environments, such as InfiniBand, 10G Fiber Channel, 10G Ethernet (CX4), and other applications that require speeds of 500Mbps up to 3.187Gbps.
The new cable assemblies are available in 4 and 12 channel (bi-directional) versions utilizing 24AWG or 26AWG cable. They enhance signal quality by minimizing skew, crosstalk and EMI, resulting in near end crosstalk of less than 4 percent at 3.187Gbps.
Fujitsu is offering the cable assemblies in standard lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, and 5 meters. They meet UL, and CSA FT4 standards.
