When a PC Card device is removed from and then reinserted into a CardBus socket, the device may not be enumerated upon reinsertion. The PC Card icon on the taskbar shows a status of Empty. When you have a computer that provides CardBus hardware support, the computer may stop responding (hang) unexpectedly when you are using an Intel ProShare PC Card. (Also requires updated CBSS.VXD and PCCARD.VXD.) 3. When you insert certain multifunction PC Cards in a PC Card slot in some computers, the computer may stop responding (hang). When this occurs, you do not hear an audible insertion tone. (Also requires updated CBSS.VXD and CONFIGMG.VXD.) 4. On certain laptop computers running Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2), when a CardBus card is inserted into a CardBus slot in the docking station the CardBus card may not be recognized or configured or may not function. If a PCI device's config space does not request BAR0, then other resources requested (in BAR1 and BAR3) may be skipped, and the hardware does not receive any resources. 6. Running OSR2, if a CardBus card is inserted after Windows has started, the card may not be assigned the correct IRQ resource. Copy the file PCIUPD.EXE into an empty folder, and run PCIUPD.EXE to install the update. 2. You may be warned that you are about to replace a newer file with an older version of the file. Generally, you should the keep the newer file, and choose not to replace it with an older file. 3. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect. How to Uninstall: ================= 1. Using Windows Explorer, locate the file PCI_UN.INF in the Windows folder, right-click on the file PCI_UN.INF, and choose Install. 2. You will be prompted for the Windows 95 installation CD or diskettes. Choose the appropriate path. 3. You may be prompted to replace the newer file with an older version of the file. To uninstall this update, choose to Replace the newer file. 4. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
