Use in Enhanced Safety Applications

This Product is designed, developed and manufactured for general use, and is suitable without limitation for use in 
 - general office environments, 
 - for personal use and 
 - for household use.
 It is NOT designed, developed and manufactured for use in environments bearing extremely high risk potentials like fatal risks or dangers.  which require extremely high safety measures, and which could otherwise lead to death, personal injury, severe physical damage or other similar losses (hereinafter called �EUse in High Safety Environments�E. Such environments include without limitations, use in: 
 - nuclear power core control, 
 - airplane control, 
 - air traffic control, 
 - mass transport operation control, 
 - life support, and
 - weapon launching control.  
You should NEVER use this product without making sure that all necessary safety measures have been sufficiently taken, to comply with the necessary requirements for its Use in High Safety Environments.  If you wish to use this product in High Safety Environments, please consult our sales person in charge before such use.

 o System requirements
   - Operating System
      Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98
      Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Me
      Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 Professional 
      Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Professional Edition 
      Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition 

 o When installing ScanSnap! Driver on Windows 2000 or Windows XP, first log on as Administrator 
  (or as a user having Administrators permission on Windows XP Home Edition). 

 o You must close ScanSnap! related programs before the service pack installation.
   You can not install this service pack correctly if the ScanSnap! related programs are running.

 o This software is ScanSnap! Service Pack 1.
   This service pack is applicable to the following ScanSnap! programs.
    - ScanSnap! Driver V2.1
    - CardMinder V1.1

 o ScanSnap! Service Pack 1 updates the installed ScanSnap! programs only.
   If you install ScanSnap! programs newly after the installation of Service Pack 1, you must re-install the service pack.

 o After the installation of ScanSnap! Service Pack 1, the version information of ScanSnap! programs changes as follows:
    - ScanSnap! Driver V2.1: Version 2.1 L11
    - CardMinder V1.1: Version 1.1 L11

2. New functions

 o ScanSnap! Driver
    - When an paper feed error such as document jam or doublefeed occurred, you can resume scanning and append the new pages to the already scanned data before the error occurred. 
      You can resume the scanning from the error message screen.

3. List of fixes

 o ScanSnap! Driver
    - Some of the user interface texts and messages were improved.

    - When PDF Thumbnail View is enabled you can choose [Thumbnails] from [View Menu] list successfully from Adobe Acrobat [File]-[Open] dialog box.

 o CardMinder
    - Some of the user interface texts and messages were improved.
