Mineral wool insulation manufacturer Paroc Oy Ab and ICT services provider Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into agreement on the delivery of IP-based telephony service solution. Paroc's Finnish sites in Vantaa, Parainen, Lappeenranta and Oulu will deploy the telephony services during the first months of 2008. There will be all in all 580 extensions.
Paroc's new telephony service solution includes VoIP, telephony, switchboard and operator services, phone subscriptions and both fixed and mobile network telephony (voip=voice over internet protocol). Also, the agreement covers lifecycle services and Mobile Professional services on smart phones.
"We have previously used a VoIP solution in our internal communication. Therefore it is a natural step for us to expand using the existing network to external telephony. We will also get rid of the dusty desktop phones and equip our staff with either a mobile phone, IP phone or a GSM desktop phone. Mobile Professional will facilitate mobile working and enhance the availability of our staff," says Systems development director Juha-Pekka Nenonen of Paroc.
”In selecting the supplier, the scale tipped in Fujitsu's favour due to its readiness and competence. Our goal is to achieve cost savings with the new solution and it seems as if this is the right direction. The technology used in this solution was not a decisive factor to us, because the solution will be provided as a service,” says Nenonen.
The Paroc group also signed a product service agreement with Fujitsu in the past summer. Fujitsu delivers product services to 13 countries where Paroc has manufacturing, sales and representation of insulation products.
