New: ETERNUS SN200 model 450M Fibre Channel Switch

Fujitsu has announced availability of a new Fibre Channel switch ETERNUS SN200 model 450M.

This new Fibre Channel switch supports both fibre channel routing functions: FC Routing and FCIP Tunneling. It also deliver the highest 4Gbit/sec transfer speed performance.

The significant benefits of this product include resource sharing between different SAN environments and remote connection of SANs via WAN.

Resource sharing with ETERNUS SN200 model 450M can be executed without changing the existing SAN topologies, management or operation. It isolates the extent of any failure so as not to affect other SAN environments. These capabilities are highly desirable when building mission critical systems.

The FC Routing, provided with model 450M as standard, provides interconnection of dispersed multiple SAN islands to improve resource utilization. In addition, the FCIP Tunneling option connects remotely located SANs via WAN allowing data backup and database mirroring between distant locations in cooperation with the Extended Remote Advanced Copy function of ETERNUS storage systems.

Support for IP compression also ensures high transfer speeds.
