Fujitsu Microelectronics Launched "Adopt a Tree" Activity to Promote Corporate Social Responsibility

Shanghai, July 21, 2009 — Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recently launched the tree adoption activity with the theme "For the Environment, For Our Earth" within its employees. As an important part of environmental protection activity and promotion of the corporate social responsibility for Fujitsu Microelectronics, the employees enthusiastically take part in it. Under the leadership of company’s leaders, every one actively participate in it. More than 30 trees are adopted in this activity. Then the ceremony for the brand building and the certification issue is held.

At 10 o'clock on July 18, the "Adopt a tree" campaign of Fujitsu Microelectronics is officially opened in Shanghai Botanical Garden. The employees with their families adopted more than 30 Magnolia grandiflora trees, and hung the brand with company name on the trees. Then, they have watering and fertilization to the trees. Fujitsu Microelectronics’ Asia-Pacific Chairman and CEO, Mr. Michael Shih also involved in the event, and made a speech in subsequent brand building ceremony.

"As a very important part of corporate culture for Fujitsu, we insist on fulfilling our corporate social responsibility, rather than view it as an obligation. Fujitsu has carried out many activities contributing to social in Japan, and integrate the corporate responsibility into the group business structure. Since entering the Chinese market, Fujitsu Microelectronics has also been insisting on its commitment 'To be good corporate citizen in China', and actively engaged in environmental protection, educational innovation and community public welfare. The 'tree adoption' activity is exactly a presentation that we participate in environmental protection and promote social responsibility. We also hope through this event, we will lead more enterprises to participate in such activities," said Mr. Michael Shih.
