Creativity Changes Your Life
Shanghai, July 20, 2009 — Fujitsu Microelectronic (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. today announced that the sign-up and preliminary promotion work of “Fujitsu Microelectronics MB95200 Series MCU Competition, 2009” have finished satisfactorily. So far almost 700 persons have signed up. Teachers and students from over 200 universities have enrolled for it, which cover most of sciences and engineering colleges, and social men also actively signed up.
Since “Fujitsu Microelectronics MB95200 Series MCU Competition, 2009” was officially launched, the conception of “creativity changes your life” makes this competition different from many other campus contests in 2009. Student participants think that the theme of “Fujitsu Microelectronics MB95200 Series MCU Competition, 2009” is close to life, can not only actuate specialty innovation and practice, but also make creative designs of participants combine with practical application and have them experience the fun of “creativity changes your life”. Student participants also said that through the competition, they can not only learn the knowledge and experience beyond textbooks, but also strengthen the understanding of the relationship between industrial technologies and their development and daily life, which laid a solid foundation for their career development in future.
Edwin Kuang, senior vice president of Asia Pacific of Fujitsu Microelectronics, said:” Bridging the gap between learning and products close to learning and social applications is one of our intents. That this competition can get such positive feedback from participants makes us very happy and strengthens our confidence in gaining a foothold in Chinese market and developing innovative products. We will continue to hold this kind of competitions and hope that the participants can make full use of our new MCU products, explore and innovate upon them actively, relate them to daily life, and develop practical products close to life so as to change our life style and increase the quality of life.”
During the recruitment and sign-up stage, to enhance the understanding of products to be used by students, Fujitsu Microelectronics held seminars at 10 universities in main cities, including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, South China Science & Technology University, University of Electronics Science and Technology of China, Xidian University and so on. Application engineers and technical support engineers from Fujitsu Microelectronics detailed Fujitsu Microelectronics’ MB95200 series MCUs and the flow of this MCU competition. During the QA section, students asked questions actively and showed strong interest in Fujitsu Microelectronics’ products.
It is reported that the expiration date of preliminary contest is August 25, 2009 and that the content of the paper should cover basic design concepts and block diagrams of hardware and software. The result of preliminary contest will be published in the middle ten days of September. Fujitsu Microelectronics will follow the practice of previous competitions, provide tools, development boards, chips and training videos to semifinalists and offer technical support to the whole design process. All finalists will be invited to award ceremony and Fujitsu Microelectronics will be responsible for the travel and accommodation. Considering previous 2 competitions have laid pretty good technical foundation and the competition of this contest will be very fierce, Fujitsu Microelectronics Competition Organization Committee decides that the certificates of honor will be issued to semifinalists.
This competition is the 3rd MCU competition held by Fujitsu Microelectronics since 2006 and is intended to change our life style and increase the quality of life through unique and creative ideas and work of participants. This competition uses newly-introduced F2MC-MB95200 series of 8-bit single-chip microcontrollers, whose target applications include small home appliances, simple industrial applications, games, PC peripheries, advanced electric tools, energy-saving control, high-efficiency charging equipments, test and measurement devices and more. “Fujitsu Microelectronics MCU Competition, 2006” mainly adopted 8-bit MCU chips for PC peripheries, small home appliances, simple industrial applications, games and so on, while “Fujitsu Microelectronics 8FX Series MCU Competition, 2007” was oriented towards the two sides of the Taiwan Straits and used 3 MCU chips of F2MC-8FX series.
