"Fujitsu Microelectronics MB95200 Series MCU Competition, 2009" Officially Launched
CREATIVITY CHANGES LIFE
Shanghai, April 21, 2009 — Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) announced that "MB95200 Series MCU Competition", sponsored by Fujitsu Microelectronics, officially kicked off today. This is the third MCU competition held by Fujitsu Microelectronics. The competition is held at the time when economic turndown and severe challenges confront the industry, this competition not only shows Fujitsu’s confidence to promote creativity and development in the industry but also reflects Fujitsu’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market.
The competition is held for the related school students, teachers, engineers and other associated personnel. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate the innovative passions and promote the MCU technology through the leading MB95200 Series MCU design and application. The competition aims to boost the development of the industry, while enrich people’s life and lift the living standard of the people. The competitions have been widely echoed by the industry and education sectors as well as the media.
Fujitsu Microelectronics jointly set up MCU labs with The Universities of Electronic Science and Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Southwest JiaoTong University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. All these labs played an active roll in encouraging the students to participate in the competition and enhance their innovative ability.
Meanwhile, the leading media of the industry, "EDN China" will support and cover the event.
F2MC- MB95200 family is the bone of the competition. It is typically, single-chip, 8-bit microcontroller family. It features fast-speed process and low power consumption with a wide array of timers, including 8-bit, 16-bit timer optional compound (features include Interval timer, PWM, PWC, Capture), time-base timer, and watch prescaler (only in dual clock product)
Dual-operation flash memory is also one of the features of this family, when a program in a storage area in the run-time can be stored in another area to complete rewrite, and cut down the size of the external memory parts to minimize the board surface area.In addition, LVD (low voltage detection), and CSV (clock monitor) can improve the stability and reliability.
Apart from working as a host microcontroller, the MB95200 series single-chip, which integrated 8-bit core and rich peripherals, can also be widely used in the power management system, space-constrained measurement system, and external control system. The series products are mainly used in the applications of small household electrical appliances, simple industrial applications and games, PC peripherals and high-level power tools, energy-saving control, efficient charging equipment, test and measurement tools.
" Fujitsu Microelectronics MCU competition" in 2006 was mainly focused on the 8-bit MCU applications on PC peripherals, small household electrical appliances, simple industrial applications and games, while in 2007, the competition features 3 MCU of F2MC-8FX family.
Mr. Masayoshi Kusumoto, Senior Director of Fujitsu Microelectronics of Asia-Pacific region, said: ” it has been our philosophy to take the initiative in the product development and brand promotion, since we entered Chinese market, and Fujitsu Microelectronics MCU competition" is the baby of this philosophy. We hope, through these competitions, the initiative and innovation can be deep rooted in the campus, on the other hand, we hope, with our advanced MCU products, the competitions can provide a MCU plateform for the universities and the industry to let the students and engineers show their talents and diversify the applications of MCU to enrich people’s life".
For "Fujitsu Microelectronics MB95200 Series MCU Competition, 2009", the online applications is accepted now, and the application deadline is June 25, 2009.
Participants can sign up for their online applications on the following site: Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Web site http://cn.fujitsu.com/fmc/ and EEFOCUS "Fujitsu Microelectronics, the University community" http://www.edufujitsu.org/
Competitors PLS send in your design and related papers to the competition committee, after the primary competition, the winners will enter the finials. The Evaluation Committee is composed by representatives from education management, industrial sector and senior technical experts from Fujitsu Microelectronics and every design will be assessed by the Evaluation Committee. The organization committee provides analog power products made by Fujitsu Microelectronics. Competitors can make full use of the products to build up their works. The organization committee also sets up the "Award for Best Application of Analog Devices" for those who selected Fujitsu’s analog power rather than MCU.
The competition awards include both honorary certificate and prize award. The excellent designs will have the opportunity to be recommended to the relevant professional media both at home and abroad. All the semi-finalists will be given access to Fujitsu Microelectronics for internships or work opportunities. The award ceremony will be held in December 2009 in Shanghai.
