Fujitsu Expands 8-bit Flash Microcontrollers Lineup
Shanghai, March 19th, 2007 — Fujitsu Microelectronics Shanghai Co.,Ltd. today announced the release of new 8-bit microcontrollers for home appliances, digital AV equipment, industrial devices and Automotive electronics. The products, MB95F128 and MB95F168M are now available for customer engagements. The new product lineup represents Fujitsu’s expanding range of high-performance 8-bit microcontroller family (*1), to suit a wide range of design needs.
Since introduced in March 2004, Fujitsu’s F2MC-8FX family of 8-bit microcontrollers have been used extensively, such as in car audio and industrial devices. The two new products, MB95F128 and MB95F168M are embedded with LCD controllers to meet a wide variety of needs.
The new MB95F128, is available in 100-pin package and intended for 3V operation. It is suitable for LCD control even at low voltage, such as blood pressure monitors and telephone receivers.
On the other hand, MB95F168M is a 64-pin package product, developed for 5V operation. The product is intended for LCD control of home appliances like microwave ovens, rice cookers and fan heaters.
The common evaluation board and development tool for Fujitsu’s 8-bit microcontrollers are already available, all products in this family can be conveniently developed in a single evaluation environment.
[Main Characteristics]
- Reduction of software burden for LCD switching
In hardware it is possible to set switching for each character. It is not necessary to control LCD switching by software. - LCD interface can be used as general purpose port
The LCD external voltage terminal and display output terminal can be used as a general purpose input/output port. So when not using as an LCD port, it is available for the customer to use as a port.
