New Fujitsu DC/DC Converter for Portable Devices Launched

Shanghai, October 30, 2006 — Fujitsu Microelectronics（Shanghai） Co. Ltd. recently announced to launch a new product suited to portable devices, DVD players and hard disk drivers. It is the synchronous rectification 2 channel DC/DC converter MB39C015 with current mode, PWM type and built-in voltage detection function.

This MB39C015 is provided with many functions such as built-in switching FET, oscillator, error amplifier, PWM type controller, and standard voltage and current detection. Its power source voltage ranges from 2.5V to 5.5V, maximum output current for every channel can reach 800mA. Owing to the current mode, it keeps monitoring output current and maintains output current at max level. Its 2MHz switching frequency maximally reduces the sizes of inductors and capacitors, and provides smaller occupying space and low-cost solution needed by many portable devices.

A built-in switch, its RDS（ON）can be lowered to only 0.3Ω（P channel）and 0.2Ω（N channel）in ON Duty mode, is used in MB39C015 to raise its converting efficiency up to 96%. As a product with high performance/price ratio, MB39C015 is very suitable power supply for mobile phones, PDA, DVD players, hard disks and IP phones.

MB39C015 is sealed in a fine and delicate BCC20 3.5mm X 3.5mm package, with two options, SSOP20 and QFN24, open to buyers. Deliveries of these three packages can be made off-the-shelf.
