Fujitsu Names Michael Shih Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Electronic Devices Group (Asia)

Shanghai, Sep. 25, 2006 — Fujitsu Limited recently announced its nomination of Mr. Michael Shih as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Electronic Devices Group Asia (EDGA).

Mr. Shih, 40 year old and holding an EE Master degree from University of Michigan (or Michigan State University), USA, has served Fujitsu for thirteen years. Since joining the department of electronic design in Tokyo headquarters in 1993, he has successively held the important posts of technology and marketing in FMP, including General Manager of Fujitsu Microelectronics (Taiwan), Chief Director of Sales, Vice President of Sales & Marketing and President of FMP. Mr. Shih has, at different stage, made great contribution to the growth of business in every important market of Pacific Asian region. During recent years, Mr. Shih led Fujitsu to plow deeply in Chinese market and strengthen technological R&D and support in China, so that Fujitsu could gradually consolidate its leading position in semiconductor industry.

Mr. Shih’s new position is the highest one a foreigner has ever held in Fujitsu Microelectronics. As one of important steps of “New IDM Partner Strategy” planned by Fujitsu for China and Pacific Asian region, this nomination is a demonstration that Fujitsu Group gives importance to China and whole Pacific Asian region, and has confidence in local managing partners. Fujitsu Electronic Devices Asia includes two important markets: Great China region and South Asia, and its main business scope covers three field, that is, customized LSI, standard LSI and system LSI.
