Enriched Line-up of 8-bit High-Performance MCU F2MC-8FX Series

Shanghai, May 26, 2006 — Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.has announced that Fujitsu has developed 8-bit microcontrollers MB95F146 and MB95F156H for Consumer Electronics etc. and will today begin to sell them in series.

These microcontrollers will enrich the F²MC-8FX family⁽¹⁾ of high-perfrmance 8-bit micro controllers to satisfy a wide variety of needs from Customers.

Recently, demand for high-speed low-power-consumption 8-bit microcontrollers is increasing from customers, especially in Asia and other overseas markets.

Two new types have been added to the F²MC-8FX family to fulfill the recent market needs. The MB95F146, a 32-pin package, can be used to manage the power supply and remote control of digital AV equipment. The MB95F156H, which is a 48-pin or 52-pin package, includes a LCD display controller and can be used for portable radio equipment, remote control of hot water units, and other purposes. To achieve the function used to reduce the power consumption of white goods and digital AV equipment etc., these microcontrollers can perform count operation⁽²⁾ to up to one minute.

For this family, a common evaluation board and a development tool are already available. Products containing any package included in this family can thus be developed in a single evaluation environment.
