Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Fujitsu works hard in China auto electronics market to drive the booming industry
Shanghai, August 31, 2005 — Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd recently participated in Changchun's "2005 China Automotive Electronics Industry Summit". This high level forum is jointly held by the Academy for Development and Research of China Electronics Communication, China Automotive Engineering Institute, and the Information Industry Department of Jilin Province to promote the integration of our electronics information technology with the automotive industry and drive the rapid development of automobile electronics field. As the business representative of leading technology in this field, Fujitsu Micro Electronics, upon invitation, had fruitful discussions at the Forum on hot areas such as automobile security system, in-car information system and in-car network etc.
The field leading manufacturer, Fujitsu Microelectronics describes, at the Forum, a beautiful future of the broad band wireless communication in the not too distant future of 2010: seamless broad band surfing anytime and anywhere; multi-channel and multi-styled hand held equipment will become standard accessories; including the co-existence and integrating of a myriad technology such as 3G, HSDPA, WiMAX, WiFI etc, bringing to the ordinary consumers end-level enquiry experiences.
The President of Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, Mr Michael Shih expresses that China's automobile electronics market has a great potential and a big future which has already become a must place for competition amongst many international semi-conductor manufacturers. Fujitsu Micro Electronics has also brought in huge resources to China, hoping to work hand-in-hand with local users to make an effort towards the rapid development of China automobile electronics.
At this high level Forum of automobile electronics field , Fujitsu Microelectronics has introduced its latest research results and development trend on areas like finger print sensor device (FPS), graphic data control (GDC) and in-car network. With the development of automobile safety system intelligence, finger print sensors are gradually becoming most indulged. Fujitsu is currently working on the R&D of finger print sensors that are of higher speed, less power usage and lower power consumption. With this accurate and flexible technology in distinguishing finger prints, the car owner can control its remote operations, engine ignition and personal data settings which greatly increase automobiles' safety and anti-theft function.
Graphic Data Control is Fujitsu's strong item in automobile electronics field which has already occupied leading market share in Japan. The GDC designed by Fujitsu can fully satisfy the current need of car entertainment information system transitioning from the simple in-car sound to a variety of entertainment with multi media influence. In the meantime, Fujitsu's DGC also covers many markets such as car GPS system, instrument penal displays, back seat entertainment system etc. Fujitsu hopes to achieve a target of 30% of Chinese domestic GDC market through providing GDC devices and its relevant problem solving solution, as well as the software tools used for generating graphic images.
In-car network has always been the biggest hot spot in automobile electronics field. Today, the number of micro control units in a car has increased to 40-60 pieces. This also requires MCU to have CAN connector, LIN connector and other high-tech communication connectors. At the Forum, Fujitsu has displayed its advanced technology on next generation MCU – FlexRay. At the same time, Fujitsu also developed, not long ago, a 32 MCU MB1270 series with high level of functionality. This series has 11 routing and communication connectors that are of highest standard in the field, and can do many high level processing activities at a high speed, which makes it feasible to develop a control unit that can further improve car safety function.
With the continuous adjustment of the global automotive line-up, China has already become the world's forth largest automotive manufacturing country. Meanwhile, the ever increasing consumer market's requirement for areas of car safety, entertainment and portability etc is constantly elevating, which, no doubt, has provided a huge business opportunity for China automobile electronics industry. According to the prediction of CCID Consulting Co., Ltd, by 2009, the scale of China's automobile electronics market will reach RMB143.41 billion. Fujitsu is willing to develop its operation in China's automobile semi-conductor market, and is determined to create a mutually profitable future with partners in China automotive market.
