Nanjing Fujitsu Nanda Software Technology, Co., Ltd (FNST) was established in 1999 with joint venture of Fortune 500 Company: FUJITSU Limited, and the leading China academic Institute: Nanjing University.

History

With “Creation, Trust, Challenge” and “Customer first, quality-oriented” as its business concept, the company has gained significant growth in its scale and achievements through the efforts during several years. It also gained positive recognitions in Jiangsu Province and China, which is indicated as follows:

• In 2000, Jiangsu Science ＆ Technology Office and Information Industry Office recognized it as “Jiangsu Software Enterprise”.
• In 2002, it was recognized as “Key software enterprise” in Nanjing.
• In 2003, it was recognized as “Jiangsu High Innovative Technology Enterprise”.
• It has been recognized as “Important software enterprise within the national planning composition for 4 years since 2002.
• It has been nominated as “Top 20 enterprise of software export (Ranked in 13)” by relevant department for 2 years since 2004.
• In 2006, it has passed CMMI Level 5 assessment first in Jiansu province and also first among the worldwide Fujitsu group companies.

Company Data

So far until September 2008, the company has 365 full-time employees, among which there are over 330 software development technical staff with bachelor’s degree or above from Nanjing university or equivalents.

• 45 People have 1 year training experience at Fujitsu, and 20% of them will be appointed to work in Japan.
• 54 People have training experience at Fujitsu for 3 – 6 months
• 80% people are holders of Information Developing Qualification (Junior, Senior, and System Analysis)
• 48 people are holders of Enterprise Certification (Microsoft MCSE, and Fujitsu Interstage Master)

R＆D Fields

FNST primarily focuses on developing and maintaining of system software and support software of server platform, which involves the following areas.

Linux OS Quality Assurance: Including verification of Linux OS, kernel enhancement, add-on tool development, application development.

Middleware Development: including development, porting and localization of FUJITSU Middleware software, which are Interstage, Systemwalker, and Symfoware.

Embedded Software System: including embedded browser development, logistics truck embedded system and hardware/Driver testing over storage system and network devices.

Packaged Software Development: Including printed circuit board design software, C/C++ source code static analysis software, Web-based software process management Framework, etc.

Quality Culture

In order to improve development capability and quality of software products, FNST implemented standardization on development projects, based on Fujitsu’s long-term experiences. The development process complies with ISO9001 standard.

Based on the development techniques accumulated by Fujitsu Limited through a number of years, In order to achieve its goal of improving the quality of software product and level of customer satisfaction, the company implemented continuous improvement to its development process.

It imported Capability Maturity Model (CMM) at the end of 2002 to evaluate and assess development processes to find out weakness and deficiency for further improvement. It has obtained substantial outcomes through a long-term, brilliant, and difficult way of process amelioration.

• In December 2003, it passed CMM3 assessment
• In December 2004, it passed CMM4 assessment
• In April 2006, it passed CMMI5 assessment.

Network Environment

In order to cooperate with the overall Fujitsu Group, FNST participated in FUJITSU WAN, which is a Fujitsu global extranet system, relying on which it fulfills free exchange of data and voice among Fujitsu group all over the world.

Beyond the Present

After passing the CMMI5 Assessment, the company starts from a higher level, and organizes process improvement activities to continually improve the quality of software developments.

The company sets its goal as “establishing a software development company with same competitiveness as first-class software enterprises in the world on its 10-year anniversary in 2009”.

It is starting to promote product quality and customer satisfaction through continuous process improvement, technical capability education, as well as its incentive and innovative policies.
