FM TOWNS (1989)

Photo of FM TOWNS

Introduced in 1989, the FM TOWNS was the first computer in the world to come with a CD-ROM drive as a standard configuration. A single CD could handle as much information as contained on 540 conventional floppy disks. It was celebrated as a 32-bit personal computer that could play music, process images, and run programs all at once.
