Fujitsu announces the release of its enhanced version of ETERNUS DX S2 operating system. This release enables ETERNUS DX S2 to improve performance and create high-speed access, essential in today's IT environment. The enhancement is available as of today and the following details highlight the new firmware release ;

Support for the new 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel adapter of ETERNUS DX S2

16Gbit/s FC host interface is supported by ETERNUS DX80 S2/ DX90 S2/ DX400 S2 series and DX8700 S2. The new 16Gbit/s FC host interface doubles data throughput and creates a higher level of performance.

Support of 1 TByte cache for ETERNUS DX8700 S2

The new 192GB cache memory is supported by DX8700 S2. With the new 192GB cache memory, ETERNUS DX8700 S2 can support up to a 1,152 GB cache memory. This enables improvements in the processing performance of enterprise-class storage.

Support of 800GB SSD

The 800GB SSDs (Solid State Drives) in both the 2.5" and 3.5" form are supported by ETERNUS DX80 S2/ DX90 S2/ DX400 S2 series and DX8700 S2. This establishes further performance improvements at an affordable cost.
