FUJITSU on Thursday announced a unique offering which provides enterprises a fast track to the private cloud; introducing its first completely preconfigured data centre environment. The firm in a press release assured organisations planning to implement a private cloud of reduced risk and lower total cost of ownership thanks to a powerful combination of its Dynamic Infrastructures portfolio with Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V and System Centre.
Based on the recently agreed-upon reference architecture between Fujitsu and Microsoft for the Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track programme, Fujitsu is providing enterprises with ready-to-run, automated and pre-tested private cloud environments. Fujitsu delivers the private cloud from a single, certified source, integrating all hardware and software including Fujitsu technologies and Microsoft System Centre software.
According to Mike Schutz, senior director, Windows Server, Microsoft Corp: "The Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track programme was designed to help simplify the deployment and operation of private clouds. We are delighted to have Fujitsu, as one of the initial launch partners, deliver its Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track-based offerings to the market worldwide. Customers tell us that they are eager to implement private cloud solutions, and Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track built upon Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft System Centre helps them do so confidently and quickly."
Private clouds are becoming established as the most trusted way for enterprises to accelerate their business velocity. Sharing IT resources such as hardware and software across entire organisations delivers flexibility, lowers operating costs and reduces risk. Fujitsu's Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track reference architectures enable businesses to accelerate the deployment of private cloud solutions. Enterprises choosing Fujitsu to design and implement their private clouds can benefit from the global organisation's deep expertise in providing both Dynamic Cloud Services and Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures.
Through its established services network, Fujitsu offers customers complete support through all steps of the private cloud transformation process - from planning through to final go-live phase. Furthermore, Fujitsu Private Cloud customers who are concerned about reaching possible headroom limitations can benefit from seamless, secure extended access to Fujitsu's trusted cloud offerings. "When you combine our global portfolio of cloud offerings together with our infrastructure and experience in the Caribbean, we have a terrific opportunity to lead the market with flexible, trusted cloud services. This means we can support our customers with anyone of their cloud initiatives, whether on-premise, private hosted or public. We see this as a unique opportunity for our customers to make significant improvements in business efficiency and competitive advantage through the appropriate adoption of cloud services from a single provider" added Adrian Bayrd, VP, Portfolio Management.
"We believe that IT should play a supporting role in an organisation, rather than being the focal point. By creating Dynamic Infrastructures that offer rapid, seamless flexibility, enterprises are assured that their IT systems will always be able to cope with changing business needs. We are now making sure that this approach is available to private cloud customers", said Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President Datacenter Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions."
