The FLASHWAVE 4010 remote extension device is a simple solution that provides the powerful and profitable results of extending SONET farther into small-to-medium sized enterprises. With this innovative OC-3 UPSR access device that can integrate with any OC-3 UPSR legacy FLM ring or next-generation FLASHWAVE ring, you can deliver up to seven DS1s or three DS3s directly to your customers' premises-all from a single, fully enclosed unit that can be deployed virtually anywhere. The FLASHWAVE 4010 is temperature hardened, which means it can be used in locations with little or no environmental control.

All the features you need, including low cost, low power, plug-and-play provision, and optional battery backup come together in this compact, margin-friendly package, so you can reach the low-end customers and still achieve your return on investment (ROI).

Four available configurations, each of which is cost optimized to deliver only the services your customers need, help you dramatically cut operational expenses and improve time to market. The single enclosure design and straightforward product architecture provides the highest level of reliability allowing you to offer extensive carrier-class SONET capabilities.

A simplified, four-step installation and turn-up process dramatically reduces the cost and time of delivering services at new customer locations. With a weight of approximately 3 ½ pounds, the device can be installed in a 19" or 23" wall-mountable rack or in a cabinet by one technician. Once the product is installed and the power and other external cabling are connected, the network element automatically creates all the required facilities, synchronization and cross-connects needed to deliver service to your customer.
