USB 3.0

The Fujitsu MB86C30A USB 3.0 external storage solution is a bridge IC that connects USB 3.0 and ATA/ATAPI devices. It delivers super-high-speed data transfer of up to 5Gbps between the host PC and SATA storage devices such as HDDs, SSDs, DVDs and CDs. The IC complies with Universal Serial Bus Specification 3.0 Revision 1.0 and is backward compatible with Universal Serial Bus Specification Revision 2.0. The MB86C30A bridge IC integrates SATA, USB links, PHYs, a high-performance 32-bit RISC processor, a hardwired encryption block, SRAM, and common interfaces to communicate and respond to requests from the USB host.

The Fujitsu MB86C30A features low power consumption and high-speed encryption hardware. In addition, the device supports both GPIO for design flexibility and SPI for interfacing to offchip serial Flash ROM.
