VOIP

VOIP is the ideal last-mile solution for cable, DSL, and wireless networks allowing service providers to bundle their offerings.
Fujitsu VOIP macro is designed to implement speech Vocoders, echo cancellation, and telephony functions to support multiple voice channels targeted for residential and SOHO applications. Any combination of Vocoders is supported. The DSP engine is based on ARC Processor utilizing its DSP extensions together with extensive hardware accelerators (Co-Processor). This provides a flexible and powerful soft solution for future algorithm enhancements and upgrades. The VOIP macro is offered as a Soft Core for system-on-chip (SoC) designs.
- Fully synthesizable soft core
- 3.3V I/O technology (test chip) with complete evaluation system
- 4 simultaneous and independent voice channels
- G.168 Echo Cancellation
- Vocoders: G.711, G.726, G.728, G.729AB, G.729E
- DTMF encode and DTMF decode
- Dial tone generation
- Reverse ring-back generation
- Bus master interface with built-in DMA - shared system memory eliminates the need for dedicated memory
- Extended ARC DSP core with Co-Processor - enables efficient and flexible soft solution for algorithm updates and future optimization
- PCM audio CODEC interface (SPORT) with AC97-compliant audio CODEC
- 304-pin PQFP
A complete reference design is available based on Fujitsu test chip for a home gateway solution.
Demand for delivering high quality voice over packet (VoP) is one of the major challenges in the convergence of data, voice and video integration. Voice over packet transmission could be based on IP (VOIP), Frame Relay (VoFR), or ATM (VoATM). It also provides the ability to provision standalone local loop bypass and long distance arbitrage services.
